Jan, I photographed the artwork which is very old and was painted on a wooden panel somewhere in Italy, and the words are the woodpecker's, so I can can't really claim credit for anything. But I think the combination is not without some humour. The text as you probably noticed sticks to the 3-line 5-7-5 haiku system, I'm glad it gave you and also Bob, and other readers hopefully, a nice feeling.
love your woodpecker - i was reading comments at Jan's blog and saw where she said "love the woodpecker" so I had to come and look. I have acorn woodpeckers in my yard and I'm a fan of them. Peck to you!
Welcome Sandy. We also have woodpeckers. My favourites are the green woodpeckers who can be seen digging for ants eggs. They instinctively (?) know just where the ants have their nests.
I love it, haiku pecker, brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bob, they're out there. Hope you snap one.
ReplyDeleteI must say that I got a good chuckle out of this one...wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteIs the artwork yours also, Gwil? It's neat!
