I suffer them because it's a lovely place to sit and watch the sun on the buildings and in the water. A small ferry goes back and forth on a steel rope strung across the river. The current drives it. It needs no engine. There is a small bar with wicker chairs outside and an olive tree in a giant pot, and a Buddha.
On the section near Klosterneuburg. About 10km west of Vienna. Barges with oil and grain in this area. Cruise ships dock about 5 kms nearer Vienna. Next town upstream is Tulln.
Nothing beats nature.

Funny thing was a few days later there was an article in the paper about three new kinds of mosquitoes now prevalent. I recognized the villains!
DeleteSadly there is always a downside Gwil - I was just thinking what a lovely scene.
