  1. Third one down is very dramatic. I never knew there were such exiting things near or around the Italian Lakes.

  2. It's a fascinating area to explore using the many ferries. We hope to return one day and visit some of the others including Como and Maggiore.

    1. I should add that the third statute down is a tribute to the aviators of the 1920's - 1930's who took part in the seaplane races on Lake Garda. The water there can be very choppy because of the winds from the mountains producing spectacular waves.

  3. I love the greyhound statue looking out onto the lake best; a typical lake Garda view. We often go to Lazise, Garda, Bardolino (Verona side of the lake) for a Sunday walk or ice cream during the "dead" season. I believe my son was at lake Iseo last week Sunday on his motorbike so you probably even crossed him ;)

    1. In Bardolino for the final couple of days. Lazise, Garda, Bardolino is a lovely location for a gentle 'passegiata'. It was the weekend of the festa di lagi in Iseo when we arrived there. The dog, one of several, is a sculpture by a French artist (?) circa 2006. The dogs are on the D'Annunzio mausoleum. The two ladies in the photos below the one of the dog are in a shady valley in his garden.

    3. No need to fly all over the planet when Italy is next door. We feel ourselves very fortunate!

  4. I especially love the Buddha and the dog looking out over the lake Gwil. Are you there relaxing at present? If so then do please enjoy every moment.
