Talking again of coincidences, the day after I wrote about De Kooning on my blog, a week or so ago now, and was at the time reading through a catalogue of his works from the library, a newspaper article appeared the next day to say a painting of his which had been missing for 50 years had been found in a cupboard when clearing through a deceased's house.
I'm lucky to get the painting. I saw it in the morning and asked the price. 15 euro. I went back in the afternoon and it was still there. So I had to have it! Regarding the race I was very pleased just to be able to take part as I had been sidelined for a couple of weeks following severe insect bites.

ReplyDeleteSo that's what it was. It was on the news and I wasn't really listening. I'd misheard it as Gaugin.
ReplyDeleteVery posh chicken house that last picture!
ReplyDeleteSt Gertrude's. Funny that because the Austrian nickname for Gertrude is Gucki which sounds a bit like a cluck.
DeleteClucky even.
DeleteLove the Fireman Sam van.
ReplyDeleteEvery Gardner should have one. Be great for carting your produce and bits and pieces for setting up a stall.
DeleteLove the holy music and the painting. Many congrats on your fantastic HM achievement- superb time with 400m climb thrown in too!
