The Pallid Sun - My Poem for Autumn

The pallid sun
Works through the mist

Reveals the work
Of many hands

The delicate strands
Of ghostly dew

Hold fragile pearls
For you to view

The willow weeps
The pond reflects

The dead leaves fall
And all's correct.

  2. Does the willow weep for summer? Great poem and a wonderful picture. I keep saying I will make a fishing pond complete with a weeping willow.

    1. Thank you Dave. Who knows why they weep. They just do I guess.
A small pond with carp and a willow overhanging. That'd be neat.

  3. Thanks Rachel, it is the right ending I think, as I said to Maria it's about 'our place in the universe'.

And: lost thoughts afloat; as the plash collects. _m

  5. I've got a pair of Sauconys - road shoes, v comfy. You found a good bargain. It pays buying the model that's a year or two old if you can find them. I've just bought some innov8 gtx trail shoes on the strength of how much I love my innov8 fells. Can't wait to run in them! Is your calf better?

    1. Good luck on the trails with the innov8s! They'll be just the job I'd imagine. My 'injury' will need a few days to clear. When these things happen I cycle in front of the TV to begin with followed by a week or two in the park with the Nordic walking sticks! When I get up to 10 laps I start running again.
