Take it or leave. They took it! Thank you haiku universe.
I enjoy this haiku because it can be appreciated in two ways, one being comic and the other gloomy, and yet both fitting well to the subject.
The halloween haiku contest is limited to a period of 24 hours and one haiku is published by haiku universe every hour. There's a link in my sidebar.
The above haiku is in the unfolding list of 25 at number 4.
Here's an haiku I've composed for the Addams Family:
"Something creepy's in the air, dad."
Make merry and enjoy the day!

Excellent! I like it.
ReplyDeleteAlso enjoyed your autumn run through the after effects of the storm. Sounded good for the soul.
Chhers CT. Enjoy your evening. Bolt the doors, break out an Addams Family vid. And quaff some red.
DeleteI adore both these offerings above. I love the humour.
ReplyDeleteGrazie! Thanks! Danke!
DeleteSadly a Halloween Massacre in New York committed in the name of religion. Victims on cycle way mowed down in the name of religion by a man in a truck near the World Trade Centre. Reports of Argentinians among those killed. My thoughts are with the innocents this morning.
ReplyDeleteI've read all 25 finalists. I enjoyed the selection and was particularly taken by Allen Ashley's haiku no. 21 and no. 23 the haiku from Cezar Florescu.
ReplyDeleteOnce again many thanks to the folks at 'haiku universe' for entering into the spirit of halloween and also for their haiku-a-day emails.
I read yours too... Nifty!
