Christmas - a time for joy
The power of the unseen is greater than people can imagine.
Two thousand years ago a baby was born, a baby boy destined to become a religious leader, a dangerous man whose words could overturn the status quo. He had to be silenced. And like many others before and since he was tortured and killed.
His legacy was a simple message.
The message survived the Dark Ages and the Inquisitions and other trials and tribulations and its light was not extinguished.
Faith, Hope and Charity is quite a simple message. It is good to remind ourselves of the message from time to time. Christmas is such a time.
Regardless of one's belief or non-belief it is a blessing to mankind that such a man lived amongst us.
Here are some pictures taken last night in Vienna.

Lovely pictures, it looks like it was raining in Vienna night. I like the crib, well I like them all, but it is nice to see the crib, and you of course. Have a happy day. I agree entirely with your words. Miracles never happen at the right moment, but we could do with a miraculous intervention right now. Have a Happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel. The crib by the way is large, about a half life-size. The lights look nice after rain. It was only a light shower you might say :).
DeleteI forgot to say it's the Franciscan church. You can find it between the Cathedral of St. Stephen and the Marriott Hotel.
DeleteI think we will find it.
DeleteGreat pictures. Pat and I had the pleasure of visiting Vienna a few years ago, and these pictures bring it all back.
ReplyDeleteIdeal weather for a walk. Little drop of rain keeps the madding crowd at bay- today 59F or 15C. Weather's like a roller coaster ride this year.
