  1. Actually Gwil, as Spring flowers go, buttercups take a lot og beating until they appear in my garden.

    1. Buttercups make me smile. They bring back so many childhood memories as do many meadow flowers. My goodness, how the fields were full of wild flowers. And so clever the cows and other animals knowing almost instinctively what to eat and what to leave,

    2. What can I say to a lady from Sweden? Go and admire, but don't expect a cosy ride in a Volvo.

  4. I am not that easily frightened, Rachel. I really enjoy having blogfriends all over the world and I enjoy friends that are square, difficult, unusual or just very interesting!! Drawings sound nice, I will pay you a visit! And Gwil, really, I wouldn't ride anywhere in a Volvo. But I would look at beautiful weeds and be happy about it!

    1. In Scotland rhododendrons are weeds and thistles are flowers! Bit like in Sweden I expect. :-)

    2. Well, it's kind of the same with people isn't it? Some are referred to as weeds where as others are kept high in respect. Not seldom it should be the other way around.....And who can be surprised if thistles are flowers in a country where bagpipes are used for making beautiful music. To be honest, I like them both and last year I pampered a wonderful thistle , it stood up 4 feet tall!Or 5.

    3. At rugby matches the Welsh wear their leeks with pride! Vegetables, even! Daffodils too of course. The Scots have their thistle! The Irish a shamrock. Is clover a weed? The English - the cultivated rose. There's no accounting for taste.

  5. __ That Field of Flowers I wandered through when I was a youngster, was rimmed by a track of wild blackberries bushes, but it is now a Field of Condominiums; sometimes, progress sours that_ that was.
