EU New Broom Sweeps Clean

The old guard at the EU is being swiftly replaced. Old dogmas will soon be swept aside. The new EU ministers are from all points of the EU compass and are equally divided between the sexes.

The new EU will soon be a much better place than the old EU, the one Britain voted to leave.

The Brexit vote is irrelevant, behind the game.

Juncker is history.

Van der Leyen is the new woman in charge.

Things will now be different. Already, for example,  there are calls in Austria for English to become the official language of business.

An Austrian will hold the 's EU purse strings.

It's time to wake up and smell the roses.

Boris, you have a chance to redeem yourself.

There's now a way forward for non-Brexit Britain.

Forget the past.

Forget Juncker.

Forget the Merkel-Macron good cop - bad cop act.

Forget the backstop.

Bring back the 21.  And your brother.

Here's your big chance!

Adapt and survive.

Go for it.

  1. He needs to make amends with the 21 and get rid of Cummings.

  2. I haven't looked much past Britain to take in Europe. However, that poem does pull together the situation.

    1. Thanks Joanne. The EU today is not the EU the UK voted to leave. Therefore the vote to leave is now meaningless.

  3. The Speaker could write to the EU and revoke article 50? Referendums are only advisory and not mandatory.

    1. Perhaps the PM could ask the Queen to revoke the prorogation? And they could all get back to work and plan the way forward now. The Juncker era Brexit referendum is today to any rational way of thinking a proverbial dodo.

    2. The highest court in Scotland has called the prorogation unlawful because the queen was mislead as to its purpose. The PM is to appeal to the Supreme Court. Sturgeon says parliament must recalled in the meantime.

"A week is a long time in politics " was never truer.

  5. Don't see any point in referendums. All they do is divide.

    1. North Macedonia has voted over 90% to join. I expect we'll get cheap tobacco, wine and lamb.

    2. They were already in receipt of EU money when I was there 8 years ago. There were signs up saying how much they thanked the EU for money. The playing field is not level. It was a country where there wasn't a John Deere tractor in sight and people were out in fields hoeing by hand and you were more likely to see a horse and cart. It was little wonder they wanted the EU, they want the CAP money that we contribute to. We put more in than anyone and get less back.

    3. A pity for the region that Jugoslavia fell apart. The Yugo cars were selling like hot cakes in GB and Brits were flocking there for their package holidays.
