    1. The English equivalent is almost bedlam, with bagpipes, whisky, curry and second hand books. Lots of loudness and gusto. This change of pace, this oasis of calm was a pleasant interlude.

  3. Santa Lucia is celebrated on the 13th December here in Verona. She brings gifts and sweets to children.
    The smorgasbord looks very good.

    2. Do you watch Soliti e Ignoti on Rai1? I do when I get the chance. It's a way of learning. One of the tools in my Italiano workbox ;)

I have seen Soliti Ignoti before, but it is too late for me; I'm in bed at that time;)

    4. Grazie Maria, I just wondered. I go to bed when it finishes ;) especially in winter when it's dark and cold like now. In fact it's already dark at 4:30 where I am.

    1. I reckon you would. The table was 20 ft long! And weighed down with many kinds of bread and cakes. I had an Earl Gray tea believe it ornot.
