Driverless train out of control

Something I read the other day.

It was about a driverless computer controlled train on the Paris underground which went through three stations without stopping.

One can imagine the fear the passengers must have felt.

'The Taking of Pelham 123' is today's required reading.

Much to everyone's relief carnage was avoided when the runaway train narrowly avoided colliding with another train at one stage during its out of control journey.

When it comes to the current situation in the Middle East oil fields the French leader  Emmanel M seems determined to ignore the signals.

Angela M or Jean-Claude J should stop him before his mouth runs away with him.

But he won't listen.

Not to them or anybody else.

POTUS tried and failed.

It's clearly a job for THE HULK.

Yes he can!

  1. Am I supposed to understand this Gwil? I do think we are in a bit of a Driverless train situation here at the moment but not sure our 'HULK' is capable of stopping it at the right station.

  2. Hi Pat, Yes and No is the answer to the Q. Somebody better stop Napoleon before he gets out of control. I've been saying that since he got elected if I can call it that. The Yellow Vests made no headway. Neither has anybody else. His mother, sorry wife, hasn't. But the HULK can. He knows the dangers of gamma rays. An experimental bomb went off and made him big and green. Cabbage coloured in fact. Take it from there. It's all yours.

  3. I gather that Merckel and Juncker don't actually listen to him when it comes to him interfering with decision making in the EU if he disagrees with them. I don't know how true this is because I have not researched it to see if there is any truth in it.

    1. I think you've summed this up well. I recall during the election he publicly accused the Russians of electoral interference. After the election the French agency responsible for security said there was no evidence that Russia had interfered in the French election campaign. Lately at the G7 you may remember by suddenly introducing some Iranian top brass when it would have been more intelligent to invite Putin. Hardly the work of a genius.

    2. Off piste as is my wont - Al Jazeera reporting building in Istanbul where Jamal Khashogi was murdered was sold by Saudi Arabia for one third its value.

    3. Yes, I see that they are going for a different location, too many bugs in the former building and they couldn't find them all. Also trying to sell the residence as well.

    4. Thanks. I hadn't noticed the bugs :-)

  4. Your blog title aptly describes the Conservative Party at the moment. It looks like the next general election will make Brexit less likely with a remain alliance the majority in Parliament. A lot of people in Ireland fear a major recession here if Brexit does happen.

    1. That I can believe! Well, both your statements actually. Apropos the Irish economy the battle between cash hungry EU on one side and Ireland and Apple on the other trundles on.

  5. I really don't trust driverless technology ... (or our government)

    1. A driverless bus collided with a person crossing the road. After 2 weeks or so it was back on the road again. We have two such buses. Fortunately they are limited 30 km/h.
