A New Franco-German Pact

'ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL . . . '
.

The EU's willing masters are at it again.

Merkel and Macron are to sign a pact designed to shore up the EU.

Germany and France are the natural leaders of the EU . . .  aren't they?

Can anybody still be unaware of that?

Does anybody outside these two countries think that such a pact is in keeping with the spirit of the EU rule book?

In today's EU France and Germany are seen to be more equal than the rest.

If anybody hasn't read George Orwell's Animal Farm they'd be well  advised to.

Yes folks. It's all happening before our very eyes. And it's happening today.

  1. Could say the same about the Eton elite in Parliament. I read Animal Farm years ago. Its very good. Down and out in London and Paris and T' road to Wigan pier are classics too. Theres going to be fun and games in the European elections, that's for sure.

    1. Thanks Dave,

I've been watching the UK's parliamentary civil war. Eton v. Karl Marx.
And cannon fodder in the middle.

There's an old joke about the Hitler Stalin pact which serves to the issues here:

      Q. What's the difference between Erdäpfel and Kartoffel?
      A. There is none: They're both words for potatoes.

  2. Very good Gwil. 50000 French people go to work in Germany every day.

Jeremy says he will still tend his allotment when he's prime minister.

    1. Many of the 50,000 commuters will be from Alsace. They only need to cross one of many bridges to the other side.

When he's pm kon the allotment the Sun will be waiting for him and not to buy 5 lbs of carrots.

Apparently its been German and French many times.

There is a kitchen garden at Chequers. So he will be very busy tending that and his allotment. He should be leader of the Green party. Off for a stroll.

  4. Pact? Isn't that just a posh word for 'not worth the paper it's written on'? I seem to think there have been pacts between germany ans france before and a lot of good it did them.

    1. Interesting that you mention that. The pact was signed in Aachen or is it Aix la Chappelle. Either way one of the agreements was regarding the EU Army project. We needn't wonder who'll be calling the shots? It won't be Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Poland, Hungary or Italy or any other savant state will it?

  5. The EU will shoot themselves in the foot if they keep on playing games with us. As for education, if a person is right for the job I don't care where he/she was educated.

    1. The best man or woman for the job. I'm a great believer in that.

Here's one for Dave at Northsider. Job Applicant: Sir, I had a good education. I went to an approved school.

  6. As you said last week, the government is the servant of the people. But now the people of three governments are being shanghaied.
